We all have questions and things we don't understand about God or faith. Before I could go deeper in my faith, I had to settle the questions that plagued me like why God allows bad things to happen to good people.
We have partnered with the people at the New Living Translation of the Bible to come up with a resource that looks at the top ten questions you have about faith and God.
So what's your biggest question? Leave a comment below.
(By the way, if you don't have a Bible, we'd LOVE to send you one completely free, no strings attached. Check it out here.)
It seems like it doesnt fit my head to think that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are the same being, when I have always associated them to be totally separate beings. God on top, Jesus His son, and the Spirit, God's loyal servant. Can you please help me understand this better?
Thanks in advance!!
How can abuse of children be tolerated?
This may be a poor example, but it's how I finally wrapped my mind around the trinity, and at the risk of putting GOD into box, look at it this way. As water has three states of being; as a liquid (water), a solid (ice), and a gas (vapor). GOD comes to us as the father, the son and the holy spirit, all the same being, but with different ways of reaching us.
Matthew 7:14 NLT
"But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it."
With a country like the USA, a country prediminantly (supposedly) Christian, it becomes scary to think not all even Christians will make their way to Heaven. How do we really know we will be able to go to Heaven?
On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’ (Matthew 7:22, 23 NLT)
I used to wonder why my son was born 4 months premie and was only one pound and six ounces and he died several times when I tried to be so perfect while carrying him but people who used drugs could pop out kids left and right but god has used him as a testimony you can't even tell he was ever tiny he will be two next month and is perfect!
See above?
For six years I have been struggling with trying to understand God's Will and Plan for my life. I pray for guidance every day, but if he has given me the guidance I have sought I don't know if I heard it. How can I understand God's calling for my life and what he wants me to do? Career changes, whether I should further my education by going back to school? Does God have someone out there for me (I was a soldier once, and I was married for 12 years and we have a 15 year old son whom I can't seem to reach with my faith, my last tour of duty ended my marriage when she found someone else) ? Does he even want me to re-marry and if so how do I find the right one? I am seeking direction on a career as I struggle week to week to make ends meet in spite of having 3 degrees including a M.Ed. I GUESS TO BOIL IT DOWN... HOW DO I KNOW WHAT GOD WANTS ME TO DO, WHAT PATH HE WANTS ME TO FOLLOW? HOW DO I HEAR HIS VOICE AND KNOW WITH CLARITY WHAT I SHOULD DO AND WHERE I SHOULD GO FOR MY LIFE?
God loves us SO much. And I know he loves believers and non-believers in ways I cannot understand.. the problem I am having is with Jewish people - they believe in the same God. They love God and try to honor him like we do as Christians.. the only real difference is that they see Jesus as a profit and not the messiah. Why should they not go to heaven? IMHO, knowing that Jesus is God gives me great comfort and I call on him all the time.. I wish that my friends and family who are Jewish had that relationship with God like I get to have.. but should that be a deal breaker to keep them out of heaven? That breaks my heart.
I cannot wrap my mind around Jesus talking to God if Jesus IS God. How can God forsake Jesus on the cross if they are one in the same? Have we misinterpreted the Scripture? Does Jesus have the power of God but is not actually God? I guess this is like the Trinity question -- probably the #1 question and unanswerable in human terms.
Adam and Eve's kids - must have reproduced with one another? Yet, clearly against God's laws.
Oh, and dinosaurs??
Why did God allow my father to molest me and my sisters throughout our entire childhood?
I was struggling with two of the top 10 question that where asked. One was why does God let innocent people suffer. And the other was how can i forgive someone who murdered my son. My heart goes out to these two. my thought would be God sent is only son with no sins, true innocents to die for us a bunch of sinners. which then made me think how can God forgive us for murdering his son. I'm not saying this to hurt any one This is just what I have come to believe after having to deal with some suffering and dealing of death of a baby son.
Where do we get this idea of an "age of accountability?" I don't see it anywhere in scripture. It seems like it's something we made up to make ourselves feel better about the whole idea of people being subjected to eternal torment. I do see, in the OT, plenty of places where people, including babies, were killed by God when they opposed the people of Israel. So how do we think he wouldn't send a 2 year old to eternal torment? It makes sense, if we're truly born with sin.
I heard the woman's story this morning about struggling to forgive the person that murdered her child. I get these daily "thoughts of the day" and wanted to share this on the topic of forgiveness:
"Forgiveness means giving up all hope of a better past." Landrum Bolling
and the person I received this quote from added:
"When you refuse to forgive someone it only hurts you. You are the one that harbors the pain of the past. And after you have forgiven that person move on and allow the healing of that relationship to begin ~ that is true forgiveness." -Kim L.
How can God be omnipresent. Not even able to wrap my mind around this.
How do I know if Im really chosen or if I will be one of the ones who says on that day, "... 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?'"
If there isn’t any sin in heaven then how did the devil defy God when he was kicked out of heaven?
The people who say why God causes death, starvation or weather drama there is one anwser I can give you! Sin is the reason why we have death, accidents and disasters, not God.The more we sin the more bad stuff happens. If we do good deeds we'll feel better about ourselves and also make the World a lot brighter. Doing good deeds does get you into heaven, just a basic love for Jesus is the ticket.
No matter how modest you are, you can't run away from sin. We don't need to be boxed-in either. That how Katy Perry got out of Christian music in the first place.
There's also the confessing of sins, if you do that weight will be lifted. Do that once a week and your be OK.
Why do some in ministry tend to put God first over their very own family? How is that right? Isn't family a ministry as well?
I have been mentoring an 80 year old man who has not accepted Christ yet. He keeps telling me that he is such a sinner and has done some really bad things and he needs to get those things in order before he could accept Christ as his personal savior. I have told him over and over that Christ has already taken care of that for him. He can't believe that it can be so simple. Any suggestions?
What happens to all those who either haven't heard the gospel at all or have been raised to see it as an abusive faith. Does God really desire everyone to be saved or not?
Why is it that for some people, it is relatively easy to have faith even faith as small as a mustard seed, but for others it is painfully hard to accept Jesus as Lord.
I've always wondered about people that live in foreign countries or remote villiges that have never heard of the gospel. Becuase God says he doesn't want anyone to die without knowing Him but those people have never heard of God's message and die all the time.
Why is it that faith comes so easy for some, yet it is something that's a real challenge for me? I am very analytical (with various minor neuroses). Many times I wish I did not question so much and just go through life blissfully ignorant and accepting. I feel like the father who told Jesus "I believe, but help me with my unbelief".
There are questions on here such as,"How can God be omnipresent?" And some people don't understand the Trinity either. The thing is, is that God is indescribable and omniscient. His wisdom, knowledge and understanding is infinite. We don't have nearly as much knowledge, wisdom and understanding as He does. The Trinity doesn't have any sort of ranks, as to Who's best. God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are All equal. And I would disagree with the water statement about the Trinity, God is not like water, some people have done the same thing with an egg, God is also not like an egg either. Those two methods to understand the Trinity are not from Scripture. We cannot understand God, nor His wisdom, nor His Trinity, nor His power, nor His omnipresence, and we never will. The thing we need to do as Christians is learn to be content about that. And to the question of "FEW WILL ENTER": This is a hard thing to think, I've struggled with doubt, so I understand your question. Many people will think they are Christians but are not. And a good way to figure out the truth about yourself is to examine yourself, like: Do you have a constant hunger for the Word, do you want to love the Lord more? Etc. Mainly, do you have desires that are of God. People will say that you would bear fruit, that is true, and Godly desires is also fruit. Ask God for assurance and hope, if it's lost.
I've been raised to believe the scripture that says that Jesus was tempted in every way like we are and that he overcame it, without sin. He did that so that we would know that we could do it too. I believed it, accepted it. Now that I'm an adult, I'm having an issue with trying to figure out how Jesus could have been tempted with addiction. (substance abuse, eating disorder, etc.) I've tried to figure that one out and I just can't.
That's a good question, and to sum it up, they have heard of God's Message, every human knows that there is something bigger than us, that we were all created, And that there is something after death. And every human actually does know about God, Heaven and hell, creation, etc. God puts it in all of us to know that, the reason they don't become Christians is because they ignore it, and alot of them in a search to find Christianity (Which they don't know that's what they are looking for), They end up finding a false way, leading them to hell, sadly. Some non-Christians have said things like,"I feel like something is missing." That's because they know that they are not saved, but at the same time they don't understand it, nor know it. It's hard to understand. Just more proof that God is omniscient.
Why did Christ have to suffer a physical death through execution to atone for sins that warranted spiritual death through separation from God?
I would tell him the truth, God doesn't want him to come to Christ perfect and sinless. When soemone becomes a Christian, God wants them to come to Christ broken, sinful and imperfect. God has taken care of it. God loves him no matter what.
In Romans 5:18-19 is says "Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone. Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous." (NLT). In the original text, the word translated as "everyone" in the NLT and as "all" in the NIV is the same word used to describe the consequence of Adams' actions as is used to describe the results of Jesus' actions. Sin came to ALL through Adam and was removed from ALL through Christ. We didn't have to opt into the sin, why is it required to opt into salvation?
I've been discussing this with a friend who says Christ redeemed all whether they know it or not just as Adam cursed us all whether we know it or not. This verse really seems to back up that claim. Are ALL saved through Christ or are we saved when WE take action and "accept" that? We didn't "accept" the sin of Adam.
My friends answer to this would answer a number of questions posted above, including the one about those who never hear the Gospel and the one about the age of accountability.
I recently had a friend take his own life, but was a Christian and was very involved in his church. I know that some believe that we must ask forgiveness and absolution of our sins continually while others believe that, once we have accepted Christ, we are saved and cannot lose that salvation. So, this begs the question, if someone is a follower of Christ but is dealing with depression or some other disorder and take their own life, are they immediately condemned or can they still be delivered into the arms of God?
Also, if we spend our entire lives married to one person and simply cannot imagine any existence without being able to be with that person, will we be able to continue with something similar to a marriage relationship in heaven? Many people say that there is no such thing as marriage in heaven because of our relationship with Christ, but I have a hard time with this concept.
Mine would be - what is the unpardonable sin and can you loose your salvation. If we have free will and we choose (for whatever the reason) to walk away from God having fully known Gods Grace at one point- can you come back? Or did you really ever loose your salvation? (and I am not talking about just "stumbling" I am talking about a deliberate choice to turn from God.)
If God can do anything, can he create a rock so big he can't pick up?
I am struggleing with accepting Gods time line. My mom passed away on june 27th from complications after a liver transplat surgery. She was very sick in the years leading up to her death, and I had almost accepted her death before it happened. However, she lived for almost a month after the transplant surgery. Even now, I am tortured with the thought of what that last month must have been like for her. She was the choir director at her church, and the pastor refrenced the passage where Jesus raised Lazurus from the dead at her memorial service. She was a good and faithful servant of the lord, yet God allowed her to suffer through the last month of herlife. I feel like Mary (or maybe it was Martha, I can't remember) in that story of Lazarus running out to meet Jesus after the death of her.
brother crying out to Jesus "Lord if only you had gotten here sooner my brother would still be alive." I wouldn't want my mom to come back from the dead, because she was suffering but I cry out to jesus "Lord if only you had gotten here sooner my mother wouldn't have suffered!"
If God is all knowing and all powerful then he knew that the fall would occur before he even created everything....why create it? Do we really have free will? If God knows what you are going to do before you do it, you might think you have free will, but in actuality you don't. Then God knows if you are going to be saved or come to him or not...why evangelize? Need more? :)
Why did God let my sister loose her baby, and have heart attacks, and now have a devorce?
There are so many parts in the Bible that use the imagery of right and left - seated at the right hand of God, dividing the people with good on the right and bad on the left. What was the cultural reason for the good things being on the right? I also remember seeing that left handedness has the latin term (sinis-something), because left handed people were thought to be possessed by demons. I haven't found the answer yet.
I am glad to see all of these questions posted here. Most are very important questions, and my hope is that if not chosen as one of the Big 10, each of those people will go out and still seek out the answers to their biggest questions in life, and not just drop it. I read the Bible cover to cover last year (using the One Year Bible which made it possible for me), and I've started over again this year. So many of my earlier questions have been answered by reading the entire Word, and so many new questions have come to mind through reading.
Take care,
William
It seems unfair that someone who has never heard any convincing arguments for Jesus (surely the fault of either Christians or location) should not be allowed forgiveness after death. At that point, for the first time, the person knows for sure that Jesus is real. That seems harsh to me, and not consistent with God's stated will - not wanting any to perish. Help?
How did the dinosaurs fit in with the bible when they claim that they date back millions of years and the earth has only been here several thousand years?
I know this does not affect everyone directly but it does affect more than we will ever probably know.
The church in general believes that all homosexuality is a sin and if one was to simply read the scriptures that pertain to this subject we would all have to agree. However, pastors are always speaking of taking scripture within context and from the original hebrew and greek. When one begins to dive deeper into the scriptures based on context and the original hebrew and greek, one finds that the word for homosexuality were generally one of 3 words meaning either pedophillia, temple prostitutes, or the conquering act of sodomy done as an ultimate act of humiliation when a war was won. In those times it was all out perverse heterosexual and homosexual acts being done. Today we have become more civilized, at least for the most part, and there are many who have surrendered their hearts to Jesus who are homosexual. I know of some who have walked away from it and are living lives of either celibacy or heterosexuality, while there are others who have reconciled the two, homosexuality and their faith that is.
I could go on and on but the truth remains that sexuality in an of it self are a good thing, God created it. The truth remains that for tho9se of us who call ourselves believer and followers of Jesus, we are Christians first and foremost and that our sexuality has no role in our identity, only in who we spend our lives with.
My biggest concern is for all the men and women who in a sense are being pushed down the road and through the wide gate into a Christless eternity simply because we humans think we have so much of it figured out. Do we really think that we will ever figure it out? Do we really think that God has the exact same path for all of us and so much so that we play the voice of God in the lives of others? I surely hope not.
I can tell you this. That I know God is more concerned about ME then He is about any of my behaviors. He loves me, not what I do. He loves me and accepts me for who I am, His child who was bought with a price.
So my question I guess would be, "Can a homosexual and a Christian?"
Anyway, that would definitely be one of my top ten.
Living in reconcilliation,
Brother Barr
Wally,
It is hard to narrow my question list to just 1 but here it goes.
God, when I attempted suicide when I was 17 you saved me, I believe you did. But why, I have as much doubt and am as scared now as I was then. What was the piont?
This is in response to Jon's answer... You had an interesting answer and I thought it was a good way to explain it cause I have never heard it put that way. But I have to disagree with your answer. Not every person knows about heaven, hell, creation, etc. I think it is true that every human has something built in them that knows their is a higher power, or something greater than them. But to say every human knows of heaven, hell, creation, etc. is quite a leap. Also, I believe it is hypocritical to say that many humans don't turn to christianity cause they are ignoring it, but then to also say that many people in trying to find christianity get mixed up in other religions. If a person is trying to find a religion they are theirfore trying to listen to their innermost call that their is something greater. They are not ignoring it. Possibly they are mixed up, but not ignoring. Also, I would like to ask a question now. If people who are searching for god get mixed up in something false, and go to hell, why would god allow that? They are obviously genuinely trying to explore the idea of god. What if they have never heard of the gospel at all, or never been proven that it is true? Those people really go to hell? I am just interested to see what your answer could be for that.
Thanks.
In responce to Heather: I think your point was pretty valid, it was a pretty hypocritical statement to say both of those things, of me. And I took what you said into consideration, and I would say that they go to hell because they violated God's Standard and they were not Christians, of course, but God still loves them, for one thing. And God did give everyone a chance to become a Christian, and if they aren't Christians then they go to hell, God would allow that because they didn't ask Jesus to come into their heart and to give them eternal life as God said non-Christians need to do, and if the Gospel has never been proven that it's true then that means that they don't believe in Christ, they would have to hear about the Gospel in order to deny that it's proven true. And if they never heard the Gospel, then I would say that they have felt like there is a God, it's very obvious that everyone is searching for something, going through all these different religions trying to find something, we all want joy, peace, love etc. I would say that, that would be evidence that people in some sense know that there is a God, everybody is looking for Him, what happens may be good or bad. Nobody wants to go to hell, everybody wants to go to Heaven, alot of people just aren't understanding that Jesus is the way to Heaven, and that the empty feeling that they are trying to fufill is God. I don't know also, why God does alot of the things that He does, I can't understand His Will or Mind, He is omniscient, and it's for God to know why, not me. God does what He Wills, and I really can't question what His Will is. I think also that God could make all of us just go to Heaven, but maybe God loves us enough to let us make our own choice.
And also, thank you for responding, I appreciate you telling me your thoughts on this.
And I also apologize if I sounded angry or mean in anything I said.
Again thank you.
In response to Bill Duncan: I would put it simply: We cannot lose our salvation, if we could then we would also never be able to get it back. Once a Christian, always a Christian. The Holy Spirit seals a Christian for eternity.
In response to Lydia: We can't understand God's Will, but God has a reason that is better beyond what we know. And when a baby dies, that baby goes to Heaven, because the baby couldn't have possibly made a choice to follow Christ or not. So the baby is in Heaven with God now.
At least part of the cultural reason for right versus left was that your left hand is you "unclean" hand, meaning that since there was no toilet paper, you have to use something. I think I prefer toilet paper.
Answers in Genesis actually has a lot of stuff on the dinosaur question. First, you have to come at the issue from a biblical worldview. The reason we never see the word "dinosaur" in the Bible is that the KJV was written before the word was coined. Dinosaurs would have been on the ark, although animals were brought on according to their kind (eg. Dogs) not by species(eg. Poodles, wolves, jackals, etc.) the average size of a dinosaur was really not all that big. In your Bible, in Job, there may be a note that the Behemoth, whose tail swayed like a cedar, may have been an elephant of a hippo. Neither of these have a tail like a cedar tree, and I, among many others, say that Gad was referring to a dinosaur. If by dating back to millions of years you are talking about carbon dating, that method is very unreliable. Some people carbon-dated some volcanic rock known to be only fifty years old, and the results came up with thousands or millions of years. I hope this helps, and if you want more information, go to answersingenesis.com, or look up some of their videos on YouTube.
I'm glad that homosexuality was brought up, because I think it's one of the topics that gets out of hand in conversation very easily. In the Bible, homosexuality (along with a ton of other things) are categorized as sin. One of my biggest problems with the church and society in general is how easily we condemn sins that we ourselves might not struggle with. (So something like homosexuality, affecting the minority is perceived to be a much worse sin than lying, which probably affects 99.9% of us).
Can a homosexual be a Christian? Absolutely. So can every single other person who has committed a sin (which, if I'm not mistaken is all of us).
Derek Webb put it best - living the Christian life is not a matter of trading certain sins for others that are easier to hide.
Thanks for the question.
Wow Ginger - really? Ewww..... ;)
I'm going to have to read up on that some more now that I know what to look for. Thanks!

I've got a question. If God knit us together (according to scripture) does he make a mistake when a baby is still born or disabled?
When I baby is disabled, that isn't because God made a mistake. Somehow it is to be used for good. In school I watched a movie that actually addressed this issue, funny, because I go to public school. It is called Simon Birch. Simon is basically born really small and never grows very big and has a hearing impairment. He believed that God made him that was for a reason, but the pastor and Sunday school lady continuously tell him otherwise, to the point that he stops believing it himself. In the end, on the was home on the bus from volunteering at winter church camp for little kids, the bus goes of the road and into the lake. The pastor is unconscious, the kids are freaking out and the other volunteer can't get them under control. But the kids listen to Simon because he is small and doesn't scare them. He ends up saving the other kids because of his disability, and then realizes that he was made that way for a reason. In my own life, I don't have a disability, but I have a really bad food allergy, and I have come to realize that God will and probably has already used it to keep me away from other dangerous situations, and it has shopped my personality in such a way that I can reach out to people who don't have a whole lot of friends that I am already too preoccupied with. Sorry about the length, but I hope this helps you.
The not reproducing with your relatives rule wasn't started until the time of Moses. Jacob actually married two of his cousins, Rachel and Leah. Actually, this rule, like many other old testament laws, actually has a good reason behind it. Reproducing with people with whom you are closely related and your DNA is similar to leads to more mutations in the genetic code, like how you often read about related people with defects like extra fingers and toes etc. Answers in Genesis (ansersingenesis.org) has a lot of good material about dinosaurs. I wrote a reply to the dinosaur question earlier, so it will be further up the list than this reply. I hope this helps you.
When the bible speaks of a man of one wife for pastors and deacons, is it referring to having never been divorced or is it referring to polygamy (having many wives at one time)? The OT talks about choosing a king not having many wives because he may be distracted from his faith. I can't see how we can let men of the world choose whether or not someone can serve in a capacity they feel led by God to serve in a church when he used Paul as one of the greatest preachers of HIS word after everything he had done. He also said David was a man after God's own heart after committing adultery and being a murderer. I know good, christian men whose wives have cheated on them and left them for other men. And just because they have been divorced, they have not been able to preach or be deacons in the church because of these verses.
When it comes to needing questions answered before you can fully trust and have faith in God is something I struggle with. My question is this:
How do you put 100% faith in God that he will fix all when during your childhood you was molested, not by one person but three and wondered where God was during this?
How do you put 100% faith in God when you watch loved ones dying before you and you know that God can heal them and you put all your faith in God that he will, to only watch them suffer twice as bad and pass away. And that person is the only one who understands your struggles and pain on your childhood and you are left with no one you know who can understand your pain?
How do you put 100% faith in God when you marry someone and your marraige turns into a living nightmare. You know that God can fix your marriage but the longer you wait for him to fix it, your children grow more afraid of their father because of his drug use and your marriage ends in divorce.
How do you put 100% faith in God when your struggling financially being a single parent, going to school full time to make a life for your daughter and still cant get ahead. You pray for a new job and you go to many job interviews thinking that God has heard your prayers but they always fall through and you are left with a low paying job with no chance of advancement?
My final question is this, How do you let go of past problems, such as these ive mentioned that has happened to me and have faith that God will help you let go and grow with him when the past continues to haunt you daily which reminds you of the things you are trying to let go but cant??
It seems like the more I pray to have more faith in God the more problems that come into my life that causes me to question having full faith in God..
Wow. You have a really tough story. I can never imagine going through what you went and are going through. I have felt it hard to trust God in the past before too because I felt betrayed by other people. Not nearly to the extent that you have, and I say again that I could never imagine that. You have to come to terms with the fact that other people's actions don't always reflect God's will for us, or his nature. He is our father, just like you are the mother of your kids. You wouldn't want your kids to feel like they couldn't trust you 100% just because they have had a teacher or another kid who hurt them in some way, or because they asked for something, but you decided that it was not what is best for them, so you said no. It is the same way with God. As to your question of how whenever you ask God to help you to trust him, you feel like only more problems come up, that has got to be really hard. In the movie Evan Almighty, (yeah, great place to get my theology) God asked Evan's wife if you ask God for strength, did he give you strength, or opportunities to be strong. I think it is the same thing with you. You are asking God to help you to trust him, and he is giving you opportunities to do just that. The fact that you are still feeling a tug towards God shows that he really wants you, and that he wants you to trust him completely. In order to trust God 100%, you have to open your heart 100%. God won't do this for you. He came down to Earth and died for you. You can't cross Jesus' bridge of salvation from us to God ( if you have ever seen that illustration) without taking both feet off of our side and trusting that the bridge won't fall. I am praying for you that you will be able to put your trust entirely in God and that you will be able to find peace and joy even in the midst of your terrible situation.
Hi Annie. I posted a response to your question earlier. After a while, I realized that the part about the bridge of salvation may have come out wrong. I have to apologize, and I never had any intention of hurting you. If you think it came of as my saying that you are standing with one foot in the world and one foot out of it, I am very sorry. I purely meant that in a sense that anytime you are walking over a bridge, you have to completely trust that the bridge will hold you up and you cannot cross it unless you get on it. I meant in no way to insult you or to challenge your faith. If it came across that way, I am very sorry and accept complete responsibility. I can understand why you have trouble trusting, and I do not blame you, nor do I wish to hinder your progress in your faith. I truly wish that your story has a happy ending.
I read that Noah was a drunk. Was this right? Please explain. I've been a Christian for 21 years and this question has bothered me for several years. Thanks and God Bless You Real Good.
Yes, it is true. In Genesis nine, Noah planted a vineyard, drank some wine and got drunk. He fell asleep in his birthday suit in his tent. His youngest son, Ham, saw him and proceeded to tell his brothers Shem and Japeth. Shem and Japeth walked into the tent backwards and covered their father with a garment. Noah woke up and found out what happened, so he blessed Shem and Japeth and cursed Ham's son Canaan.(yes, Canaan as in the land of Cannan.) Good thing Noah is already known for the flood, else he would be known almost exclusively for this. Don't think that this makes him a horrible person. He was the man that God chose to build the ark and survive the flood, be ause he was the most righteous man alive at the time. I hope this helps you.
I was born with a rare disability called hydrocephalus. And people have asked me "What sin did you commit that God gave that to you?" and I didnt commit any sin. But i can tell you throughout my life, I have seen God work in amazing ways. With my condition, I get sick frequently and I have to have numerous brain surgeries. i had my last one in September. And If i had never been given this condition, I wouldn't have been saved. God saved me at 16 years old in a hospital bed, after we all feared I wasn't going to live. And I have told my testimony and Wally has told my testimony on the air, and it brought some people to Christ after hearing it. And I thank God everyday for my condition. For without it, i wouldnt know Him. My last one taught me that God is always with me. No matter how hard life gets, He is always there. And without my testimony, many people wouldnt know Christ. And anytime something like that happens, I rejoice and thank God he gave that to me.
My wife asked me a question? If we all came from Adam and Eve, then brothers and sisters where sleeping with each other. How was that possible and what changed it? It happend twice in the bible, again with Noah and the flood. Crazy question I know... but it had to have happend
